Video, One: time to meet all the pokemon!
[The feed opens to somewhere on Main street. It's some time in the afternoon, and a small green bird with glowing eyes is held in Fumiko's arms. Her bow is deep, but she holds it for only a few seconds.]
Hello. My name's Kasahara Fumiko and it's very nice to meet you all. Because we all come from different worlds, and none of you are from mine, I thought-
[She inhales, nervous smile on her face. It's quite obvious she's rehearsed this. Still, that does not prevent her stutter from showing up here and there.]
The creatures with me are pokemon. The one in my arms is a neiti named Naty. I also have others; some of you may have met some of them. They are Hinoa, Ponpon, Minryu, Moafu, and Kairos.
[The feed expands as she speaks. As she says each name, she holds up various types of pokeballs (two pokeballs, two safari-, one premier-, one ultrall). From each of them come various pokemon, all released in multicoloured light. Some look rather cartoonish depictions of pokemon, such as the dratini. Though at 6'4, it's still rather big.
Others angle to a more realistic look. The charizard's centre of gravity between the wings and hips, giving it a slightly more raptorish stance. Its wings are folded against its back, part of tail resting against the ground as it settles. Next to Fumiko, it easy stands 5'7 at the shoulder. Alongside her Starter, there's a rapidash that's also 5'7 at the shoulder. Its features lean more towards those of a Friesian, flames flicking as it -he- tosses his head, pawing at the ground before - yea. Head down to munch on some grass.
Fumiko doesn't seem to mind.
A giant deep purple cartoonish moth hovers in the air next to the charizard, while what looks like a battle scarred pinsir from hell (who has not fed) stands next to Fumiko. Both are smaller than the human, but only just.]
If you see them wondering without me nearby, please do not attack them. They may look frightening but they are harmless to humans, and would never attack one. Thank you for understanding, and please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
[There's a few more seconds that show Fumiko fussing over Kairos, then the feed cuts out.]

Video
Okay, that's all fine, but if I see that fuckin' bug thing around by itself, you guys are going to see a grown wizard pee himself. I'm just saying. What is that thing?
Video
[There's another bow, this time held a bit longer, and a deeper, than the greeting one.]
K-Kairos is a kairosu, a bug-type from m-my world. He only looks this way be-because he was made to fight in death matches by h-his old owner.
Video
[Man. He can't help it: Taako is nicer to Fumiko than he is anybody else in this place. But she hasn't messed with him, and she's so genuine and nervous.]
Video
[There's something sad to her smile, even as she say that, but then she brightens.]
T-That, and I don't think I-I'd find another one as cute as Kairos!
Video
"Cute," huh...?]
Yyyeah. Anyway, hey, that's pretty chill of you, you know, not getting into all that nasty monster-fighting-monster business and what have you.
Video
I... Um... W-What do you mean, Taako-san? T-They're not pets?
[She looks more than a little uncomfortable at that idea, actually.]
Video
Video / keywords here :(
I don't aim to kill in battles. I dislike the waste of a battler, and to do so is not who I am. Yet, for all we aim, we cannot control what happens on the battlefield. But, please don't worry. I have items on me that heal them of injuries, and I'd never allowed them to be placed in danger the items cannot heal.
They are my prized battlers.
[For all she's an honest, genuine person... she has been shaped by her world. Trained to say the right thing; trained to appear that she's only attached to them because they are prized fighters. Trained in some many small ways that mean she's eventually going to have a breakdown.]
Video
[Yeah, Taako understands what she's getting at here. Even with as absent as his sense of empathy typically is, he can't help but feel kind of bad about this, just in general.
He gets the feeling that the world this girl comes from isn't the best one out there.]
Well, uh... still in all, good job keeping them alive and all that, I think? Especially in this fuckin' place.
Re: Video
[And, as if to demonstrate what she means, her hand snaps up, an ultraball pointed at and recalling the pinsir within several seconds.] L-Like that, see?
no subject
He takes his time getting past the unnerved confusion--especially over the Pinsir--before he bothers to respond, to be able to present a calm, matter of fact expression.]
Those are all of them, right? If we see any other strange animals wandering around, we'll know they don't belong to you?
no subject
[She pouts for a second. She'd been looking forward to training ger bidoof up into a bibarel; the same for her snover and starly. Now, she couldn't.] I-I haven't seen any monsters that look like pokemon, e-either.

[The rest? yea, they're carnivores.]

[Yeah, Noël looks officially appalled now. That sort of inhumanity is illegal, even if it's hard to stamp out entirely.
/BRB JUDGIN U FUMIKO]no subject
She's honestly baffled by the appalled look.]
Of course. I don't battle them to the death though; training them up isn't easy. Not at any level...
[There's something sad to her smile.]
no subject
[Y e a h, wow. Um. He's really not sure what to make of that. She's sad that one or more of her battlers died for her? Her team is probably even sadder. And the pet or pets that pointlessly died for her sake was probably saddest of all, huh? He doesn't really know her that well to begin with, but his regard is plummeting with this new knowledge.]

[Is he asking if they're really the strongest, or if it's really worth it? You decide, Fumiko.]
no subject
[For a second, there's a look of blank hollowness in her eyes, but then it's gone, a bright, earnest, honest smile on her face. She wholeheartedly believes that it was worth it.]
I won't ever step down unless I'm defeated, and no-one can defeat me.
no subject
[That look, brief though it is, is enough to make him feel a little sick to his stomach. She's probably about his age, maybe a little younger..... but in that moment, she feels exactly like every shitty, arrogant adult that had ever looked down on him, and seen nothing but a worthless kid who ought to be kicked aside like a piece of trash in the gutter.]

[Noël just shrugs, forcing a feigned nonchalance. Even as Santa Claus, he doesn't think he's ever felt truly powerful, considering the work and world he's faced with.]

[Five, because Johto doesn't have one, Alola isn't even in the League as far as she knows, and what is Kalos?]

[She shakes her head.]
We haven't had a queen for a really long time.

The same, but they're not very good, s-so it's better that.. that Kantō guides them and h-helps them to better heights of civilization.

[He guesses that makes sense. Great Britain is the largest, most powerful empire in the world, after all. His concerns have never really reached to the colonies, so he hasn't exactly given them much thought before, but..... well, you may as well try to improve the lots of those less fortunate, right?]
no subject
Um... I-I guess...?
[Those are probably countries in his world. They have Very Funny Names - and now she's hoping Janine eventually shows up. If only because she knows her bestie would get a kick out of the names.]
no subject
Um...the first one, that's not a snake, is it?
no subject
[Said 'baby dragon' butts her head against Fumiko, who offers a few scritches absent mindedly, electing a chirp-chur sound that might as well be a purr.]
S-She might be close to shedding, too. B-But I won't let her do that inside.
no subject
Um...I'm not really sure what to suggest about shedding, though.

[And there's a deep bow of apology follow that last rush of words.]

What are Dragon Clans?
no subject
[Deep breath.] They're clans who raise and tame dragons, and often they're Old Clan. F-For example, the Tatsuno of Jōto, the Igarashi of Hōen, the Hata of Shin'ō. T-They know a lot more than I do, and m-my Second is f-from the Tatsuno Clan.
no subject
no subject
Maybe his world doesn't have clans.] Well, yes. Old Clans might be the most famous, but there's also Gymfamilies, Ninja Clans, or the like.
I'm not f-from any of them though. My dad's a simple man who works at the docks.
no subject
But it's okay that you're from a normal family. You got really far, right?
no subject
Y-Yes. Being normal is better, as f-famous family's often have paparazzi around them. I think it would be hard to be from such a family. To be normal is better, though I worry for my family. Even it wasn't intended, I will never step down as a Champion, yet it also means my family is in the spotlight b-because of me.
[It also means a hell of a lot more than Fumiko even knows about.]
no subject
That's got to be hard for them. But at least they're proud of you, right?
