[Eiji starts up the video, visibly not in the best shape--scabs all around his mouth, and just overall disheveled and exhausted.]

If anyone's thinking about taking up the task about finding that singing phantom, don't. It's really dangerous.

[He sighs and rubs at the scabs.]

These are from her. She...I don't know. She was definitely controling the monsters with her song, and then she turned it on me. She controled me at least long enough to get me to kiss her.

[And now, there's a red flush in his cheeks.]

It's...whatever she did, she really makes you want to come back to her again. For...that. I still don't know what exactly she did, but if she was able to cut up my mouth like this...she was probably going to kill me. While I was too distracted to do anything about it.

Thanks, everyone who tried to help me. I'm sorry for the trouble.

I don't see why anyone should need to handle a job like that, anyway. Monsters are monsters--if this woman isn't doing anything to endanger us unless we interfere with her, then let her keep her audience.

So you're saying we should just leave her be, then? I mean, everything here is already trying to kill us; the worst she could probably do with a crowd of monsters is force them to follow advanced tactics they're too stupid to come up with themselves.

Incidentally, his voice may sound a little hoarse when he's back. Pay no mind.]

I'm not saying that either. I'm just saying that nobody should be going after her. But if for whatever reason, someone does end up in trouble because of her, then this way, they know what to worry about. I spent two days trying to go right back to her. I don't want anyone else going through the same thing.

[Of course it's not. Eiji would never need to lose his cool like that, right?]

[Eiji relaxes considerably as he hears that.]

[His face falls. He knows he scared Ankh with everything he said and did, and he scared himself badly too.]

I don't know. Right now, I just want to try to keep everyone away from her.

There's really not much you can do about that, aside from putting up this message--you don't really look like you're in any condition to stop people physically.

I'd really prefer not to end up having to physically stop anyone, to be honest.

[Including Ankh, who had to deal with this bullshit for a couple days. Poor guy.]

I don't even know why they're all here--the monsters, and the phantom. Or what they're after.

[He starts resting his face against his hand until he brushes up against the blood on his lips and grimaces.]

Does it really matter why they're here or what they're after? They're monsters. We either have to stay out of their way or just kill them.

As for why you..... maybe she goes after any human who gets close enough? We can't exactly ask. And testing to see if she'd go after other people would just put them in danger.

[He nods, reluctantly.]

But...I think I would have attacked Ankh, if I hadn't been close enough to kiss her then.

I did end up fighting him, when the urge to go back was the worst.

That's why you're warning people like this, so nobody else has to deal with it.

[Just bluntly restating facts probably isn't comforting in the slightest, but it's all he can think to say. He's never really known how to comfort anyone in distress, even himself.]

[Eiji nods, slowly. He gets what Noël's trying to do, at least.]

Although...it does make me wonder who's putting these tasks up on the board.

I'm pretty sure it isn't any of us, that's for certain.

So, again, who? Who else is here besides us and the monsters?

Someone who doesn't want us to know anything about them. They'd have revealed themselves by now if they had any intention of doing so, don't you think?

They definitely seem to want us cleaning this place up, though.

It took me well over a week to get the cathedral cleaned up. [Because people weren't inclined to help.] Would you want to tackle all this yourself if you could get other people to do it for you?

Somehow, I don't think we were brought here just to be a cleaning service.

There's nothing stopping them from using as as free labor incidentally to whatever their actual goals are, though.

[Eiji sees that and is trying his best not to get mad again.]

So far, all we've seen is that they killed the only other people here who might have known what was going on. As far as figuring out those goals, we haven't got much to go on.
